postheadericon The Advantages of Compound Archery Bows

Compound archery bows are unique in the fact that they are used by not only archers but also hunters as well. They use a lever system comprised of cables and a pulley system that bend the limbs of the bow to prepare for firing. Aluminum, or in some cases magnesium, is typically used to create the central riser and are constructed so that they are as strong as they can possibly be.

Composite materials are used for the constructions of the limbs themselves to increase tension and the energy the bow contains is all housed here instead of in the pulley system as it is in many other bow types. There is also the addition of a cam at the end of each limb with shapes varying depending upon the specific design of the model. Though the shapes very they all serve the same purpose and one works just as good as the other.

Since this type of bow is drawn the weight will increase and peak before it lets off at somewhere around 65% to 80% of weight. With let off like this you can shoot more accurately at your target with a higher peak weight at the same time. This makes it a much better bow to use as compared to a long bow for instance which is why many archers and hunters have a preference for this type over all others.

These bows also withstand changes in humidity and temperature rather well. This along with increase accuracy, speed and achievable distance make it a great options for just about anyone. You can also make changes to the draw strength or even the length if you need to by simply adjusting the cams on the bow a bit. It is not complicated at all to do these minor adjustments.

With such an extensive list of advantages for this type of bow it is easy to see why so many people prefer them over other types. Even people that have never used these models before have no trouble picking them up and becoming very proficient in using them in very little time.
